It was March of 2007 when I started this blog. And since then I have never upgraded my wordpress 2.1. Today I finally upgraded to wordpress 2.7. I never thought upgrading wordpress was that easy. It actually took me more time reading how to upgrade than applying it myself. I was hesitant that I might do something wrong and problems will occur but I was wrong. It only took me few minutes upgrading to the latest version of wordpress 2.7.

This is what I did.

1. I did a full backup of my wordpress database. I did a back up on my cpanel. ( The most important before doing something on your website specially if you are not familiar with what you are doing )

2. Download WordPress 2.7 from WordPress download.

3. Using Filzilla as my FTP client, I downloaded my /wp-content folder so I can have a back up just in case something comes wrong ( This is where the themes,plug-ins and content are stored ) But you can skip this step as it is waste of time. You can proceed on step No.4.

4. Unzip the downloaded wordpress 2.7. Using my FTP, I open the wordpress 2.7 folder and started overwriting my files. ( Remember not to overwrite your /wp-content folder )

5. I opened my site and clicked on the Upgrade WordPress.

That’s how simple it is. Still hoping that there will be no errors afterwards.
