Dubai telecommunication provider Du has donated AED 100,ooo to the chosen charity Concern Worldwide. Concern was selected by the Twestival global team and local organisers around the world to be this year’s charity because of its comprehensive and well respected approach to education. Education in areas of extreme poverty is an issue complicated by many different elements including hunger, clean water, teacher training, building of schools.

Besides the 100k donation, Du has given away 3 Blackberry mobiles. My mistake I didn’t give my business card otherwise I would have been one of the lucky winner. hehe…Congratulations to all the winners!

Twestival enables people from Twitter to connect offline, network and catch up socially while supporting a good cause. Twestival is 100% volunteer organized with all proceeds going to charity which is Charity: Water.

Twestival is now supporting charity: water – an organization that helps provide safe, clean drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of the money raised goes to direct project costs, funding sustainable clean water solutions.

It is good to know that Dubai Twestival is joining in this event.  Sadly, there are only 100 Dubai twitters that can enjoy this night of fun and good time as there is only limited space for the chosen venue. Maybe the next Dubai twestival, there will look for a bigger space though the venue tomorrow is actually a very good place. Nice choice.
