Wordpress founder Matt Mullenweg meets Dubai bloggers
Wordpress Founder Matt Mullenweg is here in Dubai on a visit. And since there are active bloggers here that uses wordpress, he gave us the chance to meet and chat with him.
The meetup was great. And as expected, questions were thrown at Matt. Like how wordpress started and what wordpress users will expect with the upcoming version of Wordpress 2.8. Wordcamp was also one of the topic which I hope we will also have it here soon in Dubai. Too bad they had Wordcamp in Philippines few days before my vacation.
Dubai Wordpress Meetup with Matt Mullenweg
On January 2nd Friday, there will be a Dubai WordPress meetup at Montgomery Golf Course with Matt Mullenweg, founding developer of WordPress. It is a chance to meet other local users of wordpress. Hmm..that’s exciting. Just yesterday I did my upgrade to Wodpress 2.7.
Everyone is invited in this meetup and since I’m very much now into wordpress, I have confirmed my attendance on Facebook. I’m actually busy that day but since this is chance I don’t wanna missed.
Wordpress finally upgraded
It was March of 2007 when I started this blog. And since then I have never upgraded my wordpress 2.1. Today I finally upgraded to wordpress 2.7. I never thought upgrading wordpress was that easy. It actually took me more time reading how to upgrade than applying it myself. I was hesitant that I might do something wrong and problems will occur but I was wrong. It only took me few minutes upgrading to the latest version of wordpress 2.7.
This is what I did.
1. I did a full backup of my wordpress database. I did a back up on my cpanel. ( The most important before doing something on your website specially if you are not familiar with what you are doing )
2. Download Wordpress 2.7 from Wordpress download.
